Kerala has always been renowned for its priceless resources of coir, made from coconut fiber and rubber latex, tapped from the bark of rubber trees. Tufko mats are made using these natural and eco-friendly raw materials. The viscose rubber latex is used to create a durable, firm yet flexible base on top of which tufted coir of uniform color and density is packed. Vinyl backing can also be created as a substitute for rubber.
